We had an incredible time July 31 with our BBQ outreach.

This is A Suicide Alibi. They are a great group of guys who have a heart to reach their generation with hope. Their music isn't exactly in my zone but its starting to grow on me. I appreciate their passion.

I don't know how many kids showed up for this outreach but it was more than 50. And we had a wide range of adults who also came. The folks running the grill were making hamburgers for people on the other side of the fence. Those people were from the hotel behind the church. They had heard the music and came to see what was going on.

	Moshing

The food tables and our cooks at the far end.

Joyce and Mandi, man the registeration table.

	back of the stage.

This all may look overwhelming but its all part of reaching our community and the youth of our city with the message of hope and love. I believe outreach...

Change

We are part of an organization which has just made a change in leadership. The founder and chairman has retired and someone new has taken his place. This should be exciting times for all but many struggle with it. It won't be the same and it shouldn't be.
Change and transition are inevitable in life. We are in a continual process of change and are therefore in a continual process of transition. Each and every stage of life is arrived at with some kind of change and transition.
Why is it we as humans struggle so with change? What is our problem with transition?
The strange thing to me as a Christian is to see how many other Christians struggle with change fully knowing that God is unchanging, so any change that takes place must take place in us. God isn't moving toward perfection, He is perfect. He is all He will ever be. There is no graduation or ascension to the next level for Him. He is already at HIs zenith. &#160...

The County Fair

Its County Fair time here. People from all over, 4H kids, crafters, vendors, concessions et.al. have filled the fair grounds and until Sunday night, will be competing and selling their wares. Many people mark fair time with some specifics, fair food, carnival rides and the rodeo. I didn't get involved with the fair until we had children and can only remember going to the fair once when I was a child. That was the Oregon State Fair. As our children were growing up, our daughters were involved in 4H and raised Holland Lop rabbits. They would enter baked goods and crafts as well which made fair time a bit hectic. You didn't want to bake things too early otherwise they would mold or you would have to freeze them which would not bode well if you wanted to win a ribbon. We would go to support the kids as they showed their rabbits and took care of them. I think they did the fair and 4H so they would get free passes in as they would purchase arm bands...
