Pastors Michael and Carol Cain |
Pastor Michael was born in the small town of Grangeville, Idaho. He has lived his life in all three of the northwest states. He graduated from Baker High School. He received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a church camp at the age of eight but didn’t fully realize the enormity of the decision until he was 21. The legacy of a pastor has been in his family line. His father, grandfather and uncle all have served, or are serving, in the capacity of pastors. At the age of twelve he felt the call to the ministry which set him on the road of learning and experience.
Pastor Carol, on the other hand was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. She graduated from Clackamas High School. She received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior in 1977 at a church in southern California known as Faith of our Fathers. This was a truly life changing experience which impacted every area of her life. Shortly after that she returned to her home in Portland. Through a series of events she moved from Portland to Rock Creek, Oregon, just outside of Haines. She started attending Agape Christian Center in Baker City, Oregon. It was there that she and Michael met and they were married in 1982. They have two daughters who are married to wonderful men and a son who is married to special young lady. They have 7 grandchildren.
Michael and Carol were ordained in June of 2001 under Senior Pastor Mike Ashabranner and founding pastor of Calvary Ministries, Dr. Roy Roberts. They served in many capacities including working with couples and families, counseling and deliverance ministry, and worship and praise ministries within the church.
In December of 2003, they made the commitment to support Calvary Church of Walla Walla after the resignation of the founding pastor. This hurting group of people captured their love and their hearts. They were installed as pastors on April 18, 2004, and the Lord led them to start “The Father’s House Ministries”, changing the name of the church to “The Father’s House”. The logo of the church is from a vision they had of our Heavenly Father reaching down and we as little children reaching up… our small hands captured by His huge hands. Oh how we need Him!
Our chief goal is to honor and obey our Lord Jesus Christ, to whom we owe everything! Our purpose as a church is to reclaim the broken, battered, bruised and bored; to restore them to wholeness, and equip believers to reproduce themselves by reaching others.
We desire to serve you personally by being a church that is sensitive to your needs as well as the needs of your entire family.
